Roter Mainsandstein, Röttbach
red sandstone
The “Roter Mainsandstein, Röttbach” is particularly valued for its uses in natural stonework thanks to its proven, frost-resistant quality and its distinctive colour and texture. Its monochrome red colour gives buildings or façades a stunning appearance. Numerous historical and modern buildings bear witness to this. It is a popular choice for interior and exterior applications owing to its good physical and technical properties. Its tested and certified resistance to weathering is another major plus.
The Röttbach quarry has been in operation for several centuries and is one of the most productive quarries for monochrome-red, fine-grained sandstone in Germany today.
Regional “Roter Mainsandstein” from Röttbach is a highly sustainable building material.
